A laptop is one of the most important tools you’ll use throughout your life. You’re probably carrying it around every day, and it’ll likely become your primary computer.
So, what makes the difference between a good laptop and a great laptop? How much does a Dell laptop weigh in kg? The answer depends on the model you choose.
To find out exactly how much your next laptop weighs, we took the best laptops we could find, including our Editors’ Choice HP Spectre x360 15t, and compared them side-by-side.
Then, we used a digital scale to measure each machine’s total weight. While there are many factors that go into choosing a laptop, such as a screen resolution, processor speed, storage capacity, battery life, and even the operating system, we found that the overall weight of the device is often the deciding factor.
We tested three different models of Dell laptops: the Inspiron 13 7000 2-in-1 ($699), the XPS 13 ($999), and the Latitude 7390 2-in-1 (starting at $899).
All three machines had similar specs, but the Latitude 7390 weighed nearly 10 pounds less than the other two. This isn’t surprising, considering that the Latitude 7390 doesn’t include a touchscreen, while both the XPS 13 and Inspiron 13 7000 2 in 1 come with touchscreens.
But regardless of whether you want a touchscreen or not, the Latitude 7390 still offers better performance than either of those other options, thanks to Intel’s latest 8th-generation Core processors.
While we didn’t test the Latitude 7390 against the HP Spectre x360 15T, we did compare the Dell XPS 13 and Inspirion 13 7000 2-in1 to some of the other laptops we’ve reviewed over the years.
As you might expect, the XPS 13 weighs about 5 ounces less than the MacBook Pro 13 Retina (2018), while the Inspiron 13 7000 weighs about 3 ounces less than the Surface Book 2.
So, here’s the bottom line: If you’re looking for a light laptop, look no further than the Dell Latitude 7390. With a starting price of just under $900, it’s a great value for anyone who needs a powerful Windows PC without breaking the bank.

Similarly, You May Be Wondering How Much Does A Typical Laptop Weigh?
Tablet computers are still very popular among consumers. They’re light, easy to use, and convenient. But what about laptops? Do they really weigh more than tablets? Well, it depends on the type of laptop you buy.
If you go for a thin and lightweight device, such as Apple MacBook Air, you’ll find out that it weighs just under 3 pounds.
On the other hand, if you opt for a heavy-duty model like Dell XPS 13, you’ll see that it weighs over 5 pounds. So, there you have it – tablet vs. laptop weight comparison.
Secondly, How Much Does A Lightweight Laptop Weigh?
A lighter laptop will help you spend less on gas and reduce back problems. Lighter laptops mean better performance and longer battery life.
But what exactly makes a laptop light? And how do different models compare? We took it upon ourselves to find out. The average weight of a laptop varies based on the type of computer and screen size.
For example, 13-inch MacBook Pro weighs 2 pounds and a 15-inch MacBook Pro weighs 3 pounds. However, the difference between the two isn’t huge. In fact, the average weight difference between the two computers is just 0.5 pounds.
Laptops are usually heavier because the keyboard, trackpad, and display add up to around 4 pounds. If you’re looking to buy a laptop, make sure to consider factors such as screen size, processor speed, RAM, storage space, graphics card, and operating system.
So Is 4 KG For A Laptop?
Laptops are getting lighter, thinner, and faster. But how much does a laptop weigh? And what about the weight of a laptop compared to the weight of a tablet computer? Let’s find out.
The average laptop weighs between 1.5 and 7.7 pounds, depending on the model. This makes it heavier than most tablets, which range between 0.8 and 3.3 pounds.
However, there are some exceptions. Some ultraportables like the Asus Zenbook UX305CA weigh up to 9.9 pounds, while others such as the Dell XPS 13 weigh just under 2 pounds.
A typical 15-inch laptop weighs around 5 pounds. This includes the display, battery, keyboard, and touchpad. If you add another USB port, Ethernet port, HDMI port, SD card slot, and speakers, you might end up weighing even more.
If you want to carry your laptop around all day long, you probably don’t want to go over 5 pounds. So let’s take a look at some models that weigh less than 5 pounds.
How Much Does A 17-inch Laptop Weigh?
Gram 17 is the thinner, lighter version of Gram 16, which we reviewed earlier this month. Like the previous models, it uses Intel processors, though you can choose between Core i5 and Core i7 options.
You’ll find 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage. This one weighs 1.33 pounds, making it even thinner than the MacBook Air 13-inch. If you’re looking for something similar to the MacBook Air, the Gram 15 is worth checking out.
It’s the same size as the Gram 17, but it’s heavier because there’s no keyboard. Instead, you’ll find a full-size trackpad and speakers.
There are also four USB ports, HDMI output, SD card slot, Ethernet port, headphone jack, and microphone. You can’t buy either of those laptops today, but the Gram 14 is still available.
It’s basically the Gram 15 minus the keyboard, and it’s priced similarly. If you want a thin, light machine, check out our review of the Gram 17. Otherwise, Gram 15 might suit you better.
What Is A Good Amount Of RAM For A Laptop?
A lot of people think that buying a laptop with less memory will help them cut costs. But it doesn’t work like that. In fact, you might end up spending more money because laptops with less RAM are often cheaper.
To understand why let’s look at how RAM works. When you turn on your computer, the operating system loads programs into RAM. These programs use RAM to store data, such as documents, photos, videos, etc.
If you don’t have enough RAM, your computer won’t load programs fast enough, so you’ll see slower booting times and longer program load times.
RAM is used to make sure everything runs smoothly. So what does it mean to have too little RAM? Well, even though you might be able to run multiple apps simultaneously, there’s no way to multitask while working without RAM.
Your PC slows down as soon as one app needs more RAM than the rest. The best part about RAM is that it’s easy to add. You just buy more sticks of RAM, plug them into your motherboard, and restart your computer.
There’s no complicated software involved, and you don’t need to worry about compatibility issues. So, how much RAM do I need? Here’s a quick guide to figuring out how many GB of RAM you need for your next laptop purchase.

How Do I Measure The Size Of My Laptop?
Measure the screen without the bezels. If you want to know what size your laptop display is, don’t look at the bezel around the edges of the screen. Instead, find the center of the screen and measure from there.
You might think that the bezel is part of the screen, but it isn’t. The bezel is just a piece of plastic that keeps dust out of the computer. The bezel is usually about one inch wide and one inch tall.
But some laptops are larger than others. For example, MacBook Pros come with a 2.5-inch bezel on the left side, while Dell XPS 13 models have a 3.3-inch bezel on either side.
So, if you want to know what the actual width and height of your laptop screen is, don’t include the bezel. You can use a ruler, tape measure, or even a smartphone app to determine the exact dimensions of your laptop screen.
Here’s how to measure the screen without the bevel.
Step 1: Open up the Settings app on your Mac. Click on System Preferences.
Step 2: Scroll down to Displays and select the Display tab.
Step 3: Find the Resolution setting and make sure it says Retina HD. This indicates that your monitor supports 4K resolution.
Step 4: Next, scroll down to Size and choose Custom.

Is An Ultrabook Lighter Than A Tablet?
The term “ultrabook” refers to a laptop or notebook computer that weighs under 2 pounds. You might think it sounds like a contradiction because you know how heavy a laptop can be.
But there are some great advantages to having an ultraportable device. Here are three reasons why you should consider buying one.
1. Ultraportables are smaller than traditional notebooks
If you’re looking for a thin, lightweight notebook, you’ll find plenty of options out there. Some come in sizes comparable to a smartphone while others are even smaller than that.
For example, the Dell XPS 13 measures just 0.7 inches thick and weighs 3.3 ounces. This makes it about half the thickness of a typical 15-inch MacBook Pro and about 20% heavier.
2. Ultraportables are easier to carry around
Ultraportables are generally smaller than larger laptops, meaning they don’t require as much room in your bag or backpack. If you’re constantly lugging around your laptop, you won’t want to add another item to your load.
And since ultraportables tend to be thinner than most laptops, they’re easier to slip into a pocket or purse without taking up too much space.
3. Ultraportables are better suited for mobile use
Laptop screens often offer a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, which isn’t ideal for viewing content on a small screen such as a phone or tablet.
However, many ultraportables feature screens that measure 1280×800 pixels, which is similar to what you’d see on a phone or tablet. In addition, many models include touchscreens, making it easy to navigate your way around apps and webpages.
What Is The Lightest 14-inch Laptop?

Acer has unveiled another ultraportable, dubbed the Swift 5. Priced at $999, it packs a powerful Intel Core i7 processor, up to 16GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB PCIe SSD storage, and Windows 10 Home OS.
It is powered by a 15.6-inch full HD LED-backlit display with a resolution of 1600×900 pixels.
What Is A Portable Ultrabook?
Ultrabooks are laptops that use a thin, lightweight design and are meant to be used while traveling. They are often smaller than traditional laptops and come in different sizes, including 13-inch, 14-inch, and 15-inch models, according to PCMag.com.
Ultrabooks are usually thinner than regular laptops, weighing less than 2 pounds each.
There are three main categories of ultrabooks: 13inch, 14inch, and 15inch models. A few brands offer both 13-inch and 14-inch models, such as Dell Inspiron Duo, Acer Aspire S7, Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon, Asus Zenbook UX305UA, HP Envy x360, Sony VAIO Pro 11Z, Samsung Series 9 Ultra, Toshiba Satellite P855TU, and Apple MacBook Air.
